AJ Bell launched its Favourite Funds list in April 2017 to help DIY investors find the right funds for their portfolio.  The list is AJ Bell’s pick of the best funds for medium to long-term growth or to provide income and covers both Active and Passive funds.

•    The active funds on the list have been assessed on a number of criteria including the ability and style of the fund manager, investment objective, performance and cost.

•    The passive funds on the list have been chosen following careful research evaluating the fund manager’s ability to successfully track the chosen index, the investment approach to index replication (physical only), cost and the liquidity within the fund.

AJ Bell has also updated the fund selection tool that enables investors to identify the funds from the list that suit their investment needs.  New selection criteria have been added to the tool including Ethical and Absolute Return, while the Bond criteria has been split into six sections to provide more tailored output for investors.

The Favourite Funds list and fund selection tool can be accessed here.

Ryan Hughes, head of active portfolios at AJ Bell, comments:

“The updated list reflects our highest conviction fund ideas based on an in-depth research process that is now managed entirely by our own investment team.  Identifying the best funds from the thousands that exist in the market is one of the biggest challenges investors face and is something our customers consistently ask for help on.  The Favourite Funds list and selection tool is designed to make it as easy as possible for investors to find the right high-quality funds for their investment portfolios.”
